The African Student Union Parliament, which has as one of its core objectives, the encouragement of harmonious co-existence amongst member states’ students for the purpose of student exchange programs, objective analysis of issues that affect African students and the encouragement of stakeholders and public office holders for the much needed Peace, Development and Economic Stability of the African Continent, is the umbrella body that covers all students from the 54 African Union (AU) recognized African countries. In conformity with its core objectives ASUP honored the Principal Partner of A&E Law Partnership, Chief Steve Ugochukwu Ahaneku with the Pan African Leadership Award, at a ceremony that took place on the 4th of August 2015.
The delegates from ASUP led by the Speaker, Rt. Hon Ahmed Culibaly extoled the virtues of good African Leaders who have served the African Continent through encouraging peace, economic development, conflict resolution and political stability. In particular, the Speaker, Rt. Hon Ahmed Culibaly spoke in French applauded Chief Steve Ahaneku for his courage, philanthropy, sincere and selfless commitment towards the improvement of the masses and human capital development in Nigeria including selfless service to God, humanity and country. One of the delegates, Ocheku Morgan provided an English translation of the Speaker’s speech.
The recipient and Principal Partner of A&E law firm, Chief Steve Ahaneku responding expressed his delight with the award and highlighted the fact that when he was first contacted on the phone by the representative of ASUP who intimated him of the intended visit of ASUP Delegation, he assumed it was a scam. But that by what he has seen from the efforts of ASUP in fostering harmonious corporation and correlation amongst African leaders through its award ceremony, he believes that people like him are bringing the much needed development to Africa.
